This year, we had Elisa’s birthday a little early and headed to Nana & Papa’s house in OKC for some 4th of July fun! The weather was perfect the entire time…ideal for swimming, cooking out, fireworks, and flying kites. Both kids had a blast and so did we!
Naturally, we kicked off the festivities with fake tattoos. Also, if you look closely, you can catch a glimpse of Elisa’s 16 year old self. We are in tttrrrooouuubbllle.
Josh brought me the most beautiful bouquet of wildflowers. He picked them in the field down the road from Hank & Terri’s. He knows that wildflowers are my absolute fave! Swoon.
A white sangria with loads of berries sounded like the perfect poolside drink, so I put one together. Yummy + patriotic in color.
Obviously, there are desserts galore at Nana’s…oh, and dachshunds. It’s a miracle we can all still fit into our pants after a weekend of her goodies. So. Worth. The. Calories.
Everett looks like such a big boy sitting in his big boy chair! And Hank is the cutest, nicest Papa any little girl could ever ask for! Story time with Nana never disappoints. Also, Unkie Jordan hung the moon.
Of course, it wouldn’t be the 4th without loads of fireworks! *Notice Elisa’s fake tattoo on her arm. So stinkin’ cute. Overall, Elisa did enjoy the fireworks even though she was suuuuuper tired. So did Everett! I just covered his ears while he gazed up at the sky! Fantastic first 4th for our Little Man.
We woke up to gorgeous weather the next morning – perfect for flying the Bear’s new kite that Daddy bought her!
We really could not have asked for a more festive, more relaxing holiday weekend!
